Job Summary

Maintain and repair refrigeration systems to ensure proper food temperatures and compliance with USDA and Tyson standards. Operate ammonia refrigeration equipment (screw compressor packages, evaporators, condensers, vessels, pumps) and support steam and boiler controls for processing, cooking, and sanitation. Perform preventative maintenance, conduct chemical testing, and keep work orders and documentation up to date using CMMS. Work 2nd shift in a safe, fast-paced production environment.

Key Responsibilities

•Operate and maintain ammonia screw compressor refrigeration systems, performing preventative maintenance and repairs to maintain proper food temperatures.
•Maintain ammonia evaporators and control stations to meet required temperatures in designated areas.
•Maintain ammonia condensers and vessel liquid levels to complete the refrigeration cycle efficiently.
•Maintain boilers and steam controls to support processing, cooking, and sanitation per USDA and production requirements.
•Conduct chemical testing for water levels and prevent scaling; keep work orders/documentation and complete additional duties as assigned by management.

Key Requirements

•Currently enrolled in an Ammonia Refrigeration Maintenance Program (proof of enrollment required), or have one year of ammonia refrigeration maintenance experience, or one year of classroom training from a technical college (with passing proof).
•Have graduated from a technical college with a certification in Ammonia Refrigeration Maintenance, or have one year of HVAC experience.
•Ability to learn and utilize the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
•Basic computer skills to log information, process daily work orders, and complete required documentation.
•Basic math skills for percentages, fractions, and measurements; must be able to work flexible hours/schedule.
