Job Function: Transportation & Fleet Operations

Key Responsibilities

  • •Operate the vehicle safely and in compliance with state and federal transportation laws.
  • •Transport loads on required routes, obeying traffic laws and all safety regulations.
  • •Coordinate with loading crews to maneuver trucks and trailers into loading/unloading areas and unload/load goods using specialized equipment.
  • •Maintain shipping paperwork (invoices, shipping bills of lading) and deliver required documentation to the shipping office when routes are complete.
  • •Facilitate routine service checks (e.g., oil/water/gasoline/air) and report maintenance issues; arrange trailers for optimum yard loading patterns.

Key Requirements

  • •Must hold a commercial drivers license (Class A CDL) or chauffeur’s license depending on state, appropriate for the vehicle weight.
  • •Must pass background and drug testing as required by federal and/or state DOT regulations, and pass a DOT physical for vehicles over 10k lbs.
  • •Must be at least 21 years old to operate a company vehicle.
  • •Ability to safely transport loads, follow routes, and comply with all traffic laws and safety regulations.
  • •Must be able to lift and move up to 40 pounds and be prepared for prolonged periods sitting in a cab.
