Job Summary

Own profit and loss for a garden & patio merchandise assortment by driving strategic merchandise plans, demand forecasting, and executable inventory planning. Use customer, competitor, and financial/operational data to produce market intelligence and translate insights into actions. Evaluate and develop supplier relationships, negotiate product costs, award contracts, and ensure quality and fulfillment standards. Collaborate cross-functionally to resolve P&L issues and align procurement processes with business goals.

Key Responsibilities

•Assist with development and execution of strategic merchandise plans to maximize sales and manage P&L for the merchandise assignment.
•Gather and translate trade, customer, competitor, market, financial, and operational data into market intelligence and demand/product need forecasting.
•Evaluate vendor capabilities, select suppliers aligned to merchandising strategies, and grow vendor/supplier business relationships.
•Recommend procurement and inventory process improvements; create executable inventory plans and assess opportunities for new business.
•Manage supplier reliability, product quality/fulfillment standards, and contract costing by reviewing bids, negotiating costs, awarding contracts, and monitoring performance schedules.

Key Requirements

•Two years of end-to-end merchandising experience across procurement, demand forecasting/planning, and vendor relations (preferably eCommerce).
•Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).

•Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills for working with suppliers and employees at all levels.
•Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Merchandising, Economics, or related field (or equivalent education/experience).
