Key Responsibilities

  • •Represent Samsara directly before Congress and build relationships with members, committee staff, and select federal agency officials.
  • •Identify and generate new funding or programmatic opportunities (including formula funding, grants, and appropriations language) for Public Sector Sales to pursue.
  • •Maintain a living, prioritized opportunities list with recommendations grounded in market opportunity, feasibility, timing, and cost.
  • •Partner with Public Sector Sales by translating legislative and funding intelligence into actionable input for pipeline and go-to-market strategy.
  • •Manage outside consultants and help draft/advance legislative language, funding tasks, letters, testimony, and other materials supporting government affairs priorities.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor's degree required.
  • •8+ years of relevant experience in public policy, government affairs, or government, with strong preference for appropriations-focused experience on Capitol Hill or at a federal agency.
  • •Deep, first-hand understanding of the federal appropriations and budget process, translating it into concrete funding outcomes.
  • •Established relationships with congressional offices, committee staff, and/or federal agency officials relevant to transportation, infrastructure, or technology funding.
  • •Experience working with outside consultants and critically assessing their proposals, strategy, and recommendations.
