Key Responsibilities

  • •Own injection molding part design and material selection for plastics components.
  • •Serve as an SME for geometric dimensional tolerancing (GDT) and inspection/tolerancing allowances for molded components.
  • •Develop, manage, and improve APQP from initial design through PPAP submission and readiness for mass production.
  • •Coordinate supplier industrialization activities between DRE and GSM (design documents, build schedules, progress tracking) and lead design reviews to ensure manufacturability and defined quality expectations.
  • •Investigate supplier quality issues, determine root cause, drive corrective and preventative actions, and perform supplier audits/site inspections while monitoring performance metrics.

Key Requirements

  • •5+ years of high-volume manufacturing and assembly experience supporting plastics components (AAR, Appearance, Class-A surfaces) in supplier quality, quality engineering, or manufacturing engineering roles.
  • •Hands-on experience with supplier industrialization, SQE, APQP, and PPAP.
  • •Engineering analysis skills including tolerance analysis, stress analysis, and mold flow analysis, plus DFM knowledge.
  • •Strong understanding of quality standards and specifications, including IATF 16949, SPC, MSA, FMEA, DOE, and GD&T/GDT.
  • •Bachelor’s degree in engineering required; master’s degree preferred; certification preferred (ASQ, Six Sigma Black Belt).
