Key Responsibilities

•Lead and grow the Maps & Search team, owning hiring, onboarding, coaching, 1:1s, feedback, and career development.
•Stay hands-on with code and design reviews, architecture, and thorny debugging while making technical trade-offs.
•Own and scale the high-throughput search platform, driving relevance, latency, reliability, and architecture.
•Deliver a world-class home search experience across web and mobile, improving engagement and lead conversion at scale.
•Push forward AI-powered discovery by partnering to bring LLMs and intelligent ranking into search and user workflows, shaping the roadmap end to end.

Key Requirements

•8+ years of professional software engineering experience, plus 2+ years managing engineering teams.
•Search experience across relevance, ranking, or retrieval systems; familiarity with improving search quality.
•Deep expertise in TypeScript, Node.js, and React, with end-to-end fluency from UI to data.
•Experience designing and operating scalable microservice architectures in cloud-native environments (AWS preferred).
•Strong understanding of GraphQL, event-driven systems (Kafka), and databases (PostgreSQL, OpenSearch).
