Job Summary

Join the critical SRE team supporting Akamai’s Compute, CDN, and security products. You’ll troubleshoot and analyze systems, assess platform capacity, and recommend improvements. After identifying gaps, you’ll partner with engineering and SRE teams to implement new features and products. The role focuses on observability, SLA enforcement, platform KPIs, and incident/escalation support for internal teams and customer-facing services.

Key Responsibilities

•Test for inefficiencies and fragilities and implement software or infrastructure fixes, fluent in both code and IaC.
•Design and collaborate with engineering/SRE to build automation or self-service tools.
•Use data analysis and network diagnostics/debugging tools to characterize performance and capacity of large-scale distributed systems.
•Design, manage, and track platform KPIs to identify trends and improve performance.
•Investigate and analyze platform performance proactively, collaborating to resolve escalations and incidents for customers.

Key Requirements

•Have relevant experience and knowledge in Computer Science or another quantitative discipline.
•Demonstrate experience developing solutions in Python, bash, or other languages.
•Demonstrate experience with internet protocols such as DNS, HTTP, and TCP.
•Have experience working with and analyzing complex systems in Linux, VM, and Kubernetes production environments.
•Show excellent communication skills and be able to clearly explain technical information.
