Key Responsibilities

  • •Accurately locate and mark company facilities (transmission & distribution systems, service lines, and other facilities).
  • •Read and interpret system maps and coordinate with company crews and outside contractors for any needed re-marking.
  • •Investigate natural gas facility damages to determine root causes.
  • •Maintain accurate maps, records, and reports to comply with company and regulatory requirements.
  • •Identify, address, and report safety and encroachment issues; safely operate and inspect assigned company vehicles and equipment; assist other operations functions as needed.

Key Requirements

  • •High school diploma or GED and two years of experience in natural gas, damage prevention activities, service, construction and maintenance, and/or pipeline operations.
  • •Must obtain and maintain minimum Operator Qualifications (OQs) and required classroom training/certifications within six months, and maintain a valid driver’s license.
  • •Ability to communicate, persuade, and/or influence internal and/or external customers with strong interpersonal skills.
  • •Ability to use the company’s internet/intranet, take/upload digital photos of marking activity to each line locate ticket, and use systems for data entry, reference, and retrieval.
  • •Ability to work outdoors in all weather, perform physical tasks including lifting up to 45 pounds, and meet safety-sensitive pre- and post-employment screening requirements (including DOT/PHMSA drug testing and MVR checks).
