Key Responsibilities

•Clean or prepare construction sites by removing debris and hazards and assisting with surface preparation for paving, foundations, and other activities.
•Control traffic near work zones and signal equipment operators to support alignment, movement, and adjustments of machinery and materials.
•Dig ditches or trenches; backfill excavations; and compact and level earth to grade specifications using tools such as picks, shovels, pneumatic tampers, or rakes.
•Load, unload, and distribute building materials, machinery, and tools according to project plans or specifications.
•Erect or dismantle temporary structures (scaffolding, shoring, braces, barricades, ramps) and position or dismantle concrete forms; participate in safety meetings and toolbox talks.
