Job Summary

Assist HVAC technicians with commissioning, troubleshooting, repairing, and starting up HVAC systems for Trane customers in a defined market. Work is field-based onsite at customer locations, supporting preventive maintenance and service using hand tools and blueprints/specifications. Maintain safety and accountability of company assets, and build positive relationships through clear oral and written communication while occasionally working overtime and overnight stays.

Key Responsibilities

•Assist HVAC technicians with commissioning, troubleshooting, repairing, and starting up HVAC systems in a commercial environment.
•Perform scheduled and unscheduled preventative maintenance and service under the direction of the HVAC technician.
•Use air conditioning theory, pipe fitting knowledge, mechanical layouts, and blueprints/specifications to diagnose and repair units.
•Maintain safety standards and record use, wear, and conditions to ensure security and accountability of company assets.
•Support customer service and teamwork through effective oral and written communication, including occasional overtime and overnight stays as needed.

Key Requirements

•High school diploma or equivalent.
•0–2 years of experience in HVAC and/or related technical education (technical school) is preferred.
•Operating knowledge of Microsoft Office software and working proficiency with a handheld computer (smartphone/iPad).
•Must have a valid driver’s license for at least 12 months with no major/frequent traffic violations in the prior 3 years (e.g., DUI, hit-and-run, license suspension, reckless/careless driving).
•Must be able to meet physical and safety requirements, including working at heights, using safety gear, and safely operating a vehicle with a seat belt.
