Key Responsibilities

  • •Contact policyholders regarding property claims within level of authority, conduct investigations and interviews, inspect damage, and prepare estimates.
  • •Evaluate information to determine coverage and total claim value, set and maintain adequate reserves, and make recommendations on claim payments.
  • •Obtain and review reports, statements, records, and related materials as required; document claim files and submit final reports for closure.
  • •Identify subrogation situations and initiate appropriate action.
  • •Service assigned territory to bring assigned claims to conclusion, including handling litigated claims as required and participating on Catastrophe Team when required.

Key Requirements

  • •High school diploma or GED or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree required for Property Adjuster II.
  • •Two years of claims handling experience (Property Adjuster I) or five years (Property Adjuster II), or successful completion of ERIE sponsored education as applicable.
  • •Ability to pursue and complete Technical Learning Center training and succeed within one year of hire date.
  • •Willingness to obtain and maintain any required licenses; valid driver’s license and good driving record required.
  • •Must live in the assigned territory unless a change is approved by the company.
