Key Responsibilities

•Provide engineering support for construction, inspection, and acceptance of railroad bridges and related structural components.
•Review bridge design plans, calculations, shop/working drawings, RFIs, submittals, and construction work plans for accuracy and compliance.
•Evaluate contractor proposals, design modifications, value engineering options, and field design changes while ensuring engineering standards are met.
•Coordinate with resident engineers, construction managers, design engineers of record, specialty consultants, and contractors to resolve structural issues during construction.
•Support quality and compliance by reviewing inspection reports, testing results, non-conformance reports (NCRs), and corrective action plans; prepare technical memoranda and acceptance documentation.

Key Requirements

•BA/BS with 8+ years of relevant experience (or demonstrated equivalency).
•Knowledge of reinforced concrete, prestressed concrete, structural steel, foundation systems, seismic design principles, and railroad bridge construction methods.
•Current California Professional Engineer (PE) license in Civil Engineering, or ability to obtain California registration through reciprocity within six months.
•7+ years supporting railroad, bridge, highway, transit, or other major transportation infrastructure projects.
•Ability to interpret engineering plans, structural calculations, contract specifications, and construction documents, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
