Key Responsibilities

  • •Provide engineering support for construction, inspection, and acceptance of railroad bridges and related structural components.
  • •Review bridge design plans, calculations, shop/working drawings, RFIs, submittals, and construction work plans for accuracy and compliance.
  • •Evaluate contractor proposals, design modifications, value engineering options, and field design changes while ensuring engineering standards are met.
  • •Coordinate with resident engineers, construction managers, design engineers of record, specialty consultants, and contractors to resolve structural issues during construction.
  • •Support quality and compliance by reviewing inspection reports, testing results, non-conformance reports (NCRs), and corrective action plans; prepare technical memoranda and acceptance documentation.

Key Requirements

  • •BA/BS with 8+ years of relevant experience (or demonstrated equivalency).
  • •Knowledge of reinforced concrete, prestressed concrete, structural steel, foundation systems, seismic design principles, and railroad bridge construction methods.
  • •Current California Professional Engineer (PE) license in Civil Engineering, or ability to obtain California registration through reciprocity within six months.
  • •7+ years supporting railroad, bridge, highway, transit, or other major transportation infrastructure projects.
  • •Ability to interpret engineering plans, structural calculations, contract specifications, and construction documents, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
