Key Responsibilities

  • •Own the end-to-end roadmap for Benchling's developer-facing products: REST APIs, MCPs, SDKs, API playground, code examples, and code recipes.
  • •Define primitives for agentic R&D workflows and ensure developers can actually use them.
  • •Collaborate with Solutions Engineering, Partnerships, and Customer Success to build scalable platform extensibility.
  • •Own the developer experience end-to-end and close gaps between developer expectations and delivery.
  • •Establish feedback loops from interviews, support signals, and usage data to shape roadmap decisions across the Build org.

Key Requirements

  • •3-5 years of product management experience with hands-on ownership of API, SDK, or developer platform products
  • •Technical fluency: read code, review API specs, and converse credibly with engineers
  • •Developer empathy and focus on AI-era tooling to enhance developer experience
  • •Familiarity with modern developer stack—APIs, SDKs, documentation, onboarding
  • •Strong written and verbal communication, able to present to engineers, stakeholders, and customers
