Job Summary

Operate asphalt rollers and compactors safely and efficiently on heavy highway projects to bring asphalt, soils, and aggregate within compaction specifications. You’ll apply knowledge of asphalt and aggregate characteristics, rolling patterns, and vibrating frequency considerations, while following grades. The role also requires basic measurement and mathematics skills and the ability to meet physical and attendance expectations.

Key Responsibilities

•Safely and efficiently operate asphalt rollers and compactors on heavy highway projects.
•Compact asphalt, soils, and aggregate to meet compaction specifications.
•Use knowledge of rolling patterns and vibrating frequencies during compaction work.
•Follow project grades and apply basic measurements and mathematical skills as needed.
•Maintain reliable attendance and a positive attitude while meeting company standards.

Key Requirements

•Preferred experience operating an asphalt roller on road construction projects.
•Operate equipment safely and efficiently and be able to follow grades.
•Know asphalt and aggregate characteristics, rolling patterns, and vibrating frequencies relative to maximum depth.
•Be able to repetitively lift 30 pounds and perform physical activities such as walking, stooping, squatting, sitting, and kneeling.
•Pass required physical examination and maintain reliable attendance.
