Lead AI tooling adoption across aerospace engineering to accelerate timelines; embed with multiple engineering teams, prototype and productize AI-enabled workflows, and scale impact through enablement, tooling maintenance, and cross-functional partnerships.
Location: San Jose
Workplace: Onsite
Employment Type: Full time
Job Function: Data Science & Machine Learning
Seniority: Manager level

Key Responsibilities

  • •Own the strategy for AI tooling adoption across aerospace engineering and build the multi-quarter roadmap, making the case to engineering leadership for where to invest.
  • •Embed with aerospace teams (structures, GN&C, propulsion, avionics, flight test, certification, manufacturing engineering) to identify workflows where AI tooling yields the biggest gains.
  • •Build the first version of tools yourself; write prototypes to replace long manual processes and demonstrate possibilities for productization.
  • •Run enablement at every level—onboarding sessions, office hours, async docs, and coaching with senior engineers and directors.
  • •Mentor AI-curious engineers and scale leverage by turning them into local champions and influencing broader engineering strategy.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 228,000 - 285,000 annually

Key Requirements

  • •BS or higher in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or an equivalent physical-systems discipline.
  • •A genuine, sustained obsession with AI coding and agentic tools (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor) and a history of shipping non-trivial tools.
  • •Demonstrated ability to drive change across an engineering organization without direct authority.
  • •Strong programming fundamentals—Python at minimum; able to build real, end-to-end tools and ship them to other engineers.
