Key Responsibilities

  • •Provide day-to-day back-end technical oversight for pipeline troubleshooting, user support, direction, and tool development across later production stages.
  • •Troubleshoot and optimize production workflows by testing, validating, and resolving issues from existing tools or new tool development.
  • •Safeguard artist productivity by partnering with Technical Supervisors, Solutions Engineering, and R&D to track and resolve pipeline change impacts.
  • •Manage support planning by tracking development initiatives, monitoring estimates/scope/deadlines, coordinating cross-departmental testing, and communicating status to TDs and Program Managers.
  • •Mentor and develop TDs through day-to-day guidance, onboarding support, and escalation paths with Solutions Engineering leadership.

Key Requirements

  • •5+ years of pipeline TD experience in animated features, animated TV series, and/or VFX feature films, with demonstrated leadership in feature animation or VFX.
  • •Strong technical foundation with solid Python skills (plus PyQt or another GUI toolkit), familiarity with data flow/metadata/publishing concepts, and ability to review code and troubleshoot issues.
  • •Deep understanding of traditional production workflows and tools, including experience using and troubleshooting relevant DCCs and production tracking software such as Flow Production Tracking (ShotGrid).
  • •Experience with modern software development collaboration practices, including git/GitHub, code review, and Agile methodologies using tools such as Jira.
  • •Ability to solve problems, resolve conflicts, and manage risk while adapting to changing requirements and team interactions.
