Key Responsibilities

•Perform scheduled preventative maintenance (PM) and DOT inspections, including follow-up repairs, on vehicles in a mobile/field environment.
•Diagnose, adjust, and repair truck systems (e.g., electrical, brake/cooling, starters/alternators, engine electronics, diesel steering, engines, transmissions, clutches, differentials).
•Diagnose and repair trailer systems (e.g., trailer brakes, air lines, auxiliary pumps/engines, liftgates, brake chambers, welding/fabrication, panel/body/framework replacement).
•Inspect, test, and road test defective equipment and vehicles to diagnose malfunctions and confirm proper operation.
•Maintain parts inventory and operate/maintain the company-issued service truck, completing repair orders and DOT documentation in compliance with OSHA/EPA/DOT policies.

Key Requirements

•High School Diploma/GED and 3 years’ experience in a related field (or an equivalent combination such as higher education/certification or 5 years’ experience).
•Possess and supply a set of hand tools necessary to perform required job duties.
•Obtain Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification T8 (PMI) within eighteen (18) months.
•Be able to successfully complete and pass a DOT-regulated pre-employment background screening and DOT physical prior to employment.
•Hold a current and valid DOT medical card with more than four (4) months remaining until expiration (or a DOT physical if four (4) months or less).
