Key Responsibilities

  • •Perform scheduled preventative maintenance (PM), DOT inspections, and follow-up repairs on trucks and trailers in a mobile/field environment.
  • •Diagnose, adjust, and repair electrical/brake/cooling systems, engines (gas/diesel), transmissions, diesel steering systems, starters/alternators, and related equipment.
  • •Diagnose, adjust, and repair trailer equipment and systems including trailer brakes, air lines, liftgates, brake chambers, welding/fabrication, and replacement of panels/body/framework.
  • •Inspect, test, and road test defective equipment; use test instruments and apply judgment to identify issues and evaluate alternatives.
  • •Maintain and document work: manage parts inventory, operate the service vehicle safely, complete DOT forms and Repair Orders, and communicate with support/management for approvals and PO numbers.

Key Requirements

  • •High School Diploma/GED and 3 years’ experience in a related field (or an equivalent combination such as additional certification/degree or 5 years’ experience).
  • •Possess and supply a set of hand tools necessary to perform required job duties.
  • •Obtain Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification T8 (PMI) within eighteen (18) months.
  • •Complete and pass DOT-regulated pre-employment background screening and DOT physical prior to employment (or submit a DOT medical card with more than four months validity).
  • •Be at least 21 years or older, with a valid state-of-residence driver’s license and 3 YR MVR review; be able to obtain and maintain the Driver Qualification File.
