Job Summary

Seasoned Cost Engineer within the Energy & Natural Resources sector, leading cost control across multi-project programmes. Responsible for PMB development, CBS/WBS alignment, accruals, forecasts and cost reporting, while guiding a delivery team and engaging senior management. Hybrid role based in the Bristol area with required presence at client office in Bridgewater three days per week.

Key Responsibilities

•Tailor cost control approaches to meet the client’s needs and align with best practice.
•Implement, administer, and maintain cost control systems to track project budgets, commitments, expenditures, and forecasts.
•Develop and maintain a robust Performance Measurement Baseline (PMB) with the Integrated Project Team and support the change control process.
•Develop Cost Breakdown Structures (CBS) and align budgets with Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) to monitor costs.
•Lead accruals production and ensure Actual Cost of Work Performed (ACWP) is reflected timely in cost data.

Key Requirements

•Experience in cost engineering/control across the project lifecycle; nuclear experience desirable but not required.
•Strong understanding of Earned Value Management (EVM), progress reporting, forecasting, and performance reporting.
•Excellent verbal and written communication with leadership and mentoring ability.
•Membership in a professional body (e.g., Association for Project Management, Project Management Institute).
•Familiar with cost performance reporting techniques and cost forecasting; ability to lead Cost Control Assurance activities.
