Location: Switzerland
Workplace: Onsite
Employment Type: Full time
Job Function: Research & Scientific (R&D)
Seniority: Entry level

Key Responsibilities

  • •Run protein expression workflows across cell-free (PURE, lysate-based), E. coli, and potentially mammalian systems.
  • •Execute high-throughput DNA synthesis and assembly protocols including PCR, Golden Gate, and Gibson.
  • •Run binding and characterization assays such as BLI, SPR, thermostability, enzyme activity, and developability assays.
  • •Troubleshoot issues when proteins don’t express, misfold, or aggregate.
  • •Prepare reagents, manage samples in LabOS, analyze experimental data, and help adapt bench protocols for robotic workflows.

Key Requirements

  • •BSc or MSc in molecular biology, biochemistry, bioengineering, or a related field; hands-on bench time is emphasized.
  • •Practical molecular biology skills including PCR, cloning, gel electrophoresis, and DNA purification performed directly by you.
  • •Protein expression experience expressing recombinant proteins in at least one system and understanding fundamentals.
  • •Experience with DNA assembly methods (Golden Gate, Gibson, restriction cloning) with high-throughput experience as a plus.
  • •Familiarity with biophysical/analytical characterization techniques (e.g., BLI, SPR, plate reader assays, nanoDSF, HPLC-SEC, CE-SDS) with hands-on experience in at least a few.
  • •Comfortable scripting in Python (or similar) to parse data, generate plate maps, or automate repetitive tasks.
  • •Organized, precise tracking and protocol-following for hundreds of constructs per week.
