Job Summary

Detect, analyze, influence, and enable the effective implementation of sustainability regulations to ensure compliance across DACH (Germany, Austria, Switzerland) and Central & Eastern Europe. Maintain compliance roadmaps and dashboards, develop policy analysis and instructions for internal teams, and support advocacy with industry associations, stakeholders, and policy makers. Work with the global product compliance and sustainable impact organization and related HP teams while reporting to the Sustainability Regulatory Team.

Key Responsibilities

•Detect, analyze, influence, and enable effective implementation of sustainability regulations across DACH and Central & Eastern Europe.
•Track and ensure compliance with legislative requirements related to WEEE, batteries, packaging, eco design, waste shipment, supply chain responsibility, materials, climate, ESG, and the circular economy.
•Develop policy analysis and compliance instructions, and keep internal teams informed of new legislation for relevant implementation teams.
•Maintain a roadmap and dashboard of compliance requirements and track the status of regulations in the region.
•Attend meetings with industry associations, stakeholders, and policy makers, and coordinate with global/regional teams and external partners to support compliance and advocacy.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor's or Master's degree with a significant sustainability or environmental policy focus (e.g., environmental policy, environmental management, environmental law).
•5+ years work experience, preferably in sustainability, business, or project management, with knowledge of sustainability/environmental policy requirements and/or sustainability compliance.
•Ability to act as an expert on complex regulations and develop options for enabling compliance.
•Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and German, comfortable speaking with internal/external stakeholders and management.
•Strong advocacy and influencing skills, plus rigor, attention to detail, and strong problem-solving skills.
