Job Summary

Join the Water Management team on the Simandou Project in Guinea to lead civil engineering delivery across design, review, implementation, and QA/QC. Ensure roads, water systems, and civil infrastructure meet HSE standards, Rio Tinto expectations, IFC guidelines, and ESIA commitments. Coordinate consultants, contractors, and internal teams, develop stormwater and erosion/sediment control processes, and provide technical sign-off while supporting mentoring and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

•Coordinate and review complex civil engineering designs with consultants, ensuring alignment with HSE standards and site-specific criteria.
•Develop and communicate engineering designs and plans with mine technical and operations teams and contractors, addressing environmental, safety, and operational impacts.
•Create and improve in-house stormwater management and erosion & sediment control systems, strategies, and surface water management plans to meet ESIA commitments.
•Oversee implementation and adherence to approved designs, including QA/QC and schedule, and provide technical sign-off to reduce design risk and project delays.
•Support flood risk assessments and annual wet season management plans, and assist with training and mentoring of the Water Management team.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (or similar).
•Minimum 12 years’ experience in project engineering with a strong civil engineering focus, including large-scale capital and operational projects in construction and mining.
•Experience delivering and reviewing civil engineering designs, including flow assessment and flood estimation in high rainfall and steep topography regions.
•Practical knowledge of wet season planning, including erosion and sediment control and surface water management in mining environments.
•Manual class drivers’ licence.
