Key Responsibilities

  • •Lead the Occupational Health and Wellness function, influencing employee health and wellbeing in a mining environment.
  • •Provide specialist occupational health services and ensure compliance with legislative and industry requirements.
  • •Design, implement, and evaluate medical surveillance programmes, using evidence-based recommendations.
  • •Provide clinical support and medical services to Namdeb Hospital.
  • •Champion workplace health initiatives to help prevent and manage occupational injuries and illnesses.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB/MBBS) or an equivalent medical qualification recognized by the Health Professions Councils of Namibia (HPCNA).
  • •Postgraduate Diploma in Occupational Medicine or a Specialty in Occupational Medicine (Fellow or Master’s) registrable with HPCNA.
  • •Eight (8) years’ experience as a General Practitioner, including at least three (3) years as an Occupational Medical Practitioner.
  • •Proven experience in occupational medical surveillance programmes and workplace health risk assessments.
  • •Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and electronic medical record systems.
