Key Responsibilities

  • •Apply aerodynamics methods such as wind tunnel testing and computational techniques to analyze and optimize aircraft design for safe operation across the flight envelope.
  • •Produce integrated airframe design definitions and physical product design datasets, including stakeholder liaison, product bill of materials management, and CAD definition of an optimised and manufacturable product.
  • •Analyze, qualify, and test materials; investigate material properties and failures; and help develop new materials for airborne platforms.
  • •Undertake structural analysis calculations to validate the strength, stiffness, and structural life of BAE Systems Air products.
  • •Support airframe engineering work across the product lifecycle, including manufacture, through-life support, qualification, and certification.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: GBP 34,000 annually

Key Requirements

  • •Obtain (or be predicted to obtain) a 2:2 Bachelor’s degree or a pass at Master’s level in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace/Aeronautical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, or Maths.
  • •Work across the Airframe Engineering disciplines: Aerodynamics, Design Engineering, Materials Engineering, and Structures Engineering.
  • •Attend the site 4–5 days per week for this role.
  • •Achieve Baseline Personnel Security Standard (as a minimum).
  • •Be prepared for roles being subject to security and export control restrictions.
