Key Responsibilities

  • •Own cross-cutting infrastructure initiatives across AWS, GCP, and Networking pillars, driving alignment on standards, tooling, and operational patterns.
  • •Build and maintain self-service tooling and paved-road defaults to help product teams provision and operate cloud infrastructure safely.
  • •Partner with Compute, Infra Security, and Routing to embed provisioning guardrails tied to security, compliance, and reliability.
  • •Drive infrastructure standardization across Coinbase’s multi-cloud environment to reduce fragmentation and improve consistency.
  • •Lead technical investigations and operational improvements across infrastructure boundaries to resolve systemic issues and scale foundational systems.

Key Requirements

  • •5+ years of software engineering experience, with 3+ years building and operating production cloud infrastructure on AWS and/or GCP (networking, compute, or platform engineering).
  • •Hands-on cloud networking experience with primitives such as VPCs, transit gateways, DNS, and load balancers, plus infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform or Pulumi.
  • •Proficiency in at least one backend language (e.g., Go or Python) to build platform tooling and automation at scale.
  • •Ability to drive cross-team technical initiatives across multiple infrastructure domains to deliver cohesive, production-ready outcomes.
  • •Use generative AI responsibly with human oversight to improve workflow efficiency, cost, and quality.
