OP Medical Coder

Assigns and verifies the correct ICD-9, ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS, and DRG codes by reviewing physicians’ documentation to ensure diagnoses and procedures are valid, complete, and consistent with care provided. Abstracts relevant clinical information from health records, checks coding compliance with HAAD guidelines, supports coding accuracy through feedback, and stays current with coding updates and directives. Also guides coders and Medical Records Technicians and follows OSH, infection control, and waste management procedures.
