Key Responsibilities

  • •Provide the full breadth of personal financial counseling services to service members and their families at assigned military installations.
  • •Assist service members with establishing spending plans for extended absences.
  • •Develop and provide informational financial materials to service members and families.
  • •Coordinate, publicize, and deliver Personal Financial Management classes/workshops across the military lifecycle, including pre- and post-deployment topics.
  • •Communicate with leadership, participate in supervision and in-services/training, and manage duty-to-warn situations per DoD protocol.

  • •Bachelor's degree required; may consider associate degree plus 4 years’ experience, or high school diploma plus 6 years’ experience in lieu of a bachelor’s degree.
  • •3+ years of financial counseling experience.
  • •Must be a U.S. citizen and speak fluent English; may be required to be bilingual in English and Spanish if required by the contract.
  • •Must be able to obtain a favorably adjudicated Tier 2 investigation.
  • •Must have an Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), or Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) certification.
