Key Responsibilities

  • •Complete conceptual and detailed process engineering designs for new and upgraded facilities.
  • •Develop design basis documents (process design criteria, mass/energy/water balances) and engineering reports.
  • •Design and optimize flowsheets using metallurgical test work review, process simulations, and calculations (including hydraulic and slurry/non-slurry scenarios).
  • •Create, review, and revise process deliverables (PFDs, P&IDs, line lists, control philosophies, cause-and-effect matrix, and data sheets) and support safety studies (HAZOP/relief scenarios).
  • •Interface with other discipline engineers and project management; support budgeting/cost estimates, vendor support, and ensure compliance with Wood and client quality and HSSE requirements.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Metallurgy, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering.
  • •12+ years of relevant professional technical and industry experience in process/plant design work.
  • •Proficiency with MS Office and experience with process simulation software such as METSIM, SysCAD, HSC, and Aspen (asset).
  • •Ability to deliver best-practice, cost-effective plant/process designs and translate commercial implications into study execution.
  • •Accountability for safety-focused process design using risk assessment tools such as HAZOP and risk reviews.
