Key Responsibilities

  • •Contribute to a PhD research project on KI-gestützte autonome Batteriedemontage and how enterprise product data can guide an AI agent.
  • •Build robot simulation environments in MuJoCo for the dismantling use case.
  • •Develop scripted demonstrations derived from SAP-ERP product knowledge (BOMs, work plans, component specifications).
  • •Support the robot-learning training pipeline using the LeRobot framework on a dedicated GPU server.
  • •Collaborate closely in an industry research partnership with KIT’s Intuitive Robots Lab and work with the SAP/KIT doctoral team.

Key Requirements

  • •Enrolled student (m/w/d) at a university or university of applied sciences in Informatics, Robotics, Mechatronics, or Business Informatics.
  • •Strong Python knowledge plus fundamentals in ML frameworks (PyTorch or TensorFlow).
  • •Experience or strong interest in robot simulation (MuJoCo preferred) and/or robot learning frameworks (e.g., LeRobot, OpenVLA).
  • •Fluent English required; German is a plus.
  • •Independent, hands-on work style in an applied research setting; plus: project experience and Git version control.
