Job Summary

Lead Aon’s Bermuda claims operation as an in-office executive, owning end-to-end operational, budgetary, leadership, and strategic outcomes. Mentor and develop the claims team, serve as the insurer advocate, and direct resolution of complex, high-value claims across multiple lines (including Property, Casualty, Cyber, and Financial Lines). Establish governance, drive process improvement, and use claims data and analytics (including Aon Claims Co-Pilot) to improve outcomes and insights.

Key Responsibilities

•Mentor, develop, and engage members of the claims team and share technical knowledge through internal forums and calls.
•Serve as client advocate with Bermuda insurers by reviewing coverage positions and setting strategies to achieve favorable outcomes.
•Engage insurers to resolve complex, high-value claims and provide expert advice on claims processes and coverage issues across product lines.
•Establish and document claims processes, procedures, and quality standards; oversee claim file governance and audits (e.g., pre-renewal, reserve reviews).
•Maintain accurate claims information in internal systems (including Aon Claims Co-Pilot) and deliver claims analysis, reports, and trend insights using data and analytics.

Key Requirements

•Deep understanding of the Bermuda claims market with strong technical expertise across commercial lines and complex policy wordings.
•Proven operational leadership experience, including strategic decision-making and ownership of processes, data, and quality assurance.
•Ability to manage the claims lifecycle from first notification through resolution, including complex and high-value matters.
•Effective negotiation skills engaging insurers to resolve coverage issues and advance claim outcomes.
•At least 10 years’ claims experience preferred, or commensurate legal or commercial risk/insurance experience.
