Job Summary

Join the European Technology and Innovation Center in the Netherlands to originate and evaluate next-generation aircraft propulsion concepts. You’ll perform thermodynamic cycle and aircraft performance analysis, build MDAO workflows, and apply MBSE to develop propulsion models with internal and external partners. Work on hybrid electric and alternative fuel concepts, explore system topology and vehicle integration, and communicate results to senior leadership and external briefings.

Key Responsibilities

•Originate and evaluate propulsion concepts integrating thermodynamic cycles with hybrid electric propulsion, alternative fuels, and aircraft elements.
•Study the impact of alternative propulsion systems on aircraft performance, including propulsion integration effects.
•Perform thermodynamic cycle and performance analysis and execute multi-disciplinary design, analysis and optimization (MDAO) workflows.
•Execute model-based systems engineering (MBSE) to develop propulsion concept models in collaboration with internal and external partners.
•Challenge and refine assumptions, contribute invention disclosures for potential patents, and summarize/present results to senior leadership and external customers.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering.
•2+ years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree in the related field.
•Experience in aviation, turbomachinery and/or gas turbine industries.
•Experience in thermodynamic cycle analysis / aircraft propulsion performance modelling.
•Experience in model-based systems engineering (MBSE).
