Job Summary

Support Cloudflare’s most technical enterprise customers by investigating and resolving network security and performance issues across OSI layers 3, 4, and 7. Diagnose problems involving DDoS mitigation, firewall rules, SSL/TLS, and routing, and use Cloudflare tools like Magic Transit, WAF, IP reputation, packet inspection, and rate limiting. Create technical documentation and partner with Engineering and Product teams, leveraging automation and generative AI to accelerate incident response.

Key Responsibilities

•Serve as a trusted technical advisor for enterprise customers, responding to and resolving network security and performance inquiries and incidents with timely, high-quality assistance.
•Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve complex issues involving DDoS mitigation, firewall rules, SSL/TLS, network confirmation, and other security configurations.
•Create and maintain knowledge base articles, technical guides, and troubleshooting documentation for internal and customer use.
•Analyze traffic signatures and attributes (IP addresses, cookies, HTTP headers, JavaScript footprints) to identify legitimate vs. malicious traffic.
•Advise customers on filtering malicious traffic using Cloudflare tools (Magic Transit, Network Firewall, WAF, IP reputation lists, packet inspection, blocklisting/allowlisting, rate limiting) and partner with Engineering/Product to improve tools; use generative AI/automation to streamline log and root-cause analysis during security incidents.

Key Requirements

•Minimum 4 years experience as a Network Security Engineer/Technical Support Engineer/Sr. Support Engineer supporting networking or web security products.
•Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, including simplifying complex concepts for customers.
•Strong customer service orientation and communication skills.
•Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
•Strong network protocol knowledge (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/S, BGP, anycast) plus tools like iptables and looking glass; experience with packet capture analysis, connectivity troubleshooting, and GRE tunnels.
