Key Responsibilities

  • •Perform electrical construction or maintenance work to install and repair electrical systems and interrelated components using standardized methods, codes, and engineering specifications.
  • •Follow instructions and drawings to determine component requirements, plan task sequences, and ensure required support services, tools, and equipment are available.
  • •Perform system installation, maintenance, repair, and preventive maintenance/service as required.
  • •Communicate changes to those responsible for operation, care, use, and maintenance of equipment and proper servicing practices.
  • •Refer difficulties to a supervisor/project leader and assist other trades on joint projects within skill scope.

Key Requirements

  • •Knowledge of electricity and electronics, A.C./D.C. circuits, phase power and distribution systems, and working knowledge of the electrical code for industrial work (including hazardous areas).
  • •Ability to read complex drawings and schematic diagrams and use shop mathematics to understand solid state device principles.
  • •Proficiency using a multimeter and knowledge of NFPA 70E.
  • •Ability to install electrical conduit systems and associated fittings (EMT, IMC, RGC), including wire pulling and terminations.
  • •Must have a minimum of an E2 unlimited Electrical License from the State of Connecticut.
