Job Summary

Provide subject matter electrical engineering support and leadership for power generation projects across multiple phases—from preliminary design through commissioning and record drawings. Coordinate due diligence, investigation, remediation, permitting, and design for transmission/distribution substations, power regulation, renewable energy, and protection/control systems. Oversee development of electrical drawings and equipment specifications, support scoping and proposals, ensure compliance with codes/standards, and mentor staff while engaging clients, vendors, and regulators.

Key Responsibilities

•Produce, coordinate, review, and/or approve electrical design plans for complex power plant projects.
•Apply electrical engineering techniques across project phases, including preliminary design, commissioning support, and record drawings.
•Oversee development of power plant electrical drawings and equipment specifications.
•Support generation scoping, budgeting, and proposals; lead larger-scale electrical engineering projects with QA/QC adherence.
•Assist with permit application reviews and engineering plan/specification reviews; conduct/oversee construction inspections and communicate decisions with clients and contractors.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.
•10+ years of relevant post-education experience as a power engineer providing design deliverables for power generation capital projects.
•Professional Engineer license required (multiple states preferred).
•Highly proficient in power engineering and power plant infrastructure design for Combined Cycle/Simple Cycle gas turbines or Heat Recovery Steam Generators.
•Experience with electrical studies (e.g., short circuit, load flow, relay coordination, arc flash) and power system protection/control, plus strong communication and technical writing skills.
