Key Responsibilities

  • •Lead telecoms design and engineering activities across the project lifecycle.
  • •Provide technical assurance, design review, and engineering governance.
  • •Support delivery of telecoms renewals, enhancements, and digital railway programmes.
  • •Manage technical risks, interfaces, and system integration activities.
  • •Mentor junior engineers and engage with clients, contractors, and key stakeholders.

Key Requirements

  • •Degree, HNC, or HND qualified in Telecommunications, Electronic, Electrical, or a related Engineering discipline.
  • •Significant experience in rail telecommunications engineering.
  • •Strong knowledge of FTN/FTNx, fibre optics, IP networking, GSM-R, CCTV, PA, CIS, and telecoms transmission systems.
  • •Experience working within Network Rail or major rail infrastructure environments.
  • •Chartered Engineer (CEng) status or working towards professional registration (desirable) and strong communication/leadership/stakeholder skills.
