Key Responsibilities

  • •Manage all yards receiving processes to ensure safe, humane handling of livestock.
  • •Provide accurate counts and identification, including ante-mortem inspection.
  • •Use comprehensive knowledge of the live scale process to support receiving.
  • •Work closely with FSIS inspectors, livestock producers, livestock haulers, livestock handlers, and plant operations.
  • •Coordinate with other Yards and Operations management teams; support supervisory responsibilities as needed (including time and attendance).

Key Requirements

  • •BS degree in Animal Science or Agriculture (preferred).
  • •Livestock experience required; swine or cattle experience preferred.
  • •Strong verbal and written communication skills to coordinate with livestock haulers and team members.
  • •Basic computer skills, including managing spreadsheets and email, and familiarity with the Live Scale.
  • •Willingness to perform physical requirements of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.
