Key Responsibilities

  • •Own and drive the physical design of the payload carriage and release for a novel aircraft type from initial concept through low rate production.
  • •Define requirements and propose solutions, establishing evaluation and verification methods for mechanical systems with UK and US partners.
  • •Collaborate with internal disciplines to ensure electrical, actuation, and mechanical systems work together as a reliable, flexible, cost-effective system.
  • •Lead design reviews, conduct analysis, build prototypes, and design and implement hardware test plans.
  • •Enhance team tools, templates, processes, and standards, and travel to test sites and vendors as needed.

Key Requirements

  • •BEng, BSc, MEng, MSc or higher in mechanical or aerospace engineering, or equivalent work experience.
  • •10+ years in a technical engineering role in a professional aerospace setting with a successful track record delivering projects and managing stakeholders.
  • •Experience with NX/Teamcenter and strong proficiency in CAD software for rapid concepting and iteration.
  • •Strong knowledge of mechanics of composite and metallic materials, including design, analysis, testing, and fabrication.
  • •Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.K. security clearance.
