Job Summary

Lead second-line risk oversight for Robinhood's derivatives trading platform (Bitstamp BFS), establishing and enhancing risk management frameworks for market, product, counterparty, margin, collateral and liquidity risks. Key Responsibilities

•Support the Director of Risk in implementing and managing risk programs for the BFS entity with focus on market, product, counterparty, margin, collateral and liquidity risks from spot and derivatives activities.
•Provide independent monitoring of risk exposures across financial and operational risks and escalate breaches of limits, focusing on trading-related risks and scalable control design.
•Review and validate risk models and exposure metrics across derivatives products and trading strategies, including challenge of calculations and assumptions.
•Define and review margin methodologies and assess adequacy of margin and collateral practices including initial/maintenance margin and stress assumptions.
•Collaborate with Product, Operations, Compliance, Legal and Technology to integrate risk considerations into business processes and decision-making.

Key Requirements

•5+ years of experience in financial risk management, ideally in a second line of defense capacity, with direct derivatives/market risk experience essential.
•Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail; ability to interpret complex data and challenge front-line risk metrics and product outputs.
•Strong understanding of MiFID derivatives regulatory framework and prudential expectations for investment firms offering derivatives products.
•Knowledge of balance sheet components and drivers of income, including capital, liquidity, and P&L implications of leveraged derivatives activity.
•Ability to operate independently, navigate ambiguity, and communicate with senior stakeholders using credible quantitative analysis.
