Key Responsibilities

  • •Serve as enterprise-wide legal expert on ECOA, Fair Housing Act, state fair lending laws, and related guidance.
  • •Advise Consumer Card, Retail Bank, Capital One Auto, and Capital One Shopping businesses on fair lending initiatives.
  • •Support Fair and Responsible Banking Compliance with strategic implementation of the fair lending and adverse action compliance management program.
  • •Provide fair lending legal counseling support for commercial credit lines of business and related team matters as needed.
  • •Assist in legal review of marketing materials and other communications for consumer regulatory compliance and internal marketing policies.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 200,700 - 229,100 annually

Key Requirements

  • •Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school
  • •Active member in good standing of at least one state bar
  • •At least 5 years of experience as an attorney in a law firm, in-house legal department, or government agency
  • •At least 5 years of financial services industry knowledge with experience in consumer credit regulatory requirements
  • •Thorough knowledge of ECOA, FHA, and accompanying regulatory lending laws and regulations
