Validate firmware releases, implement power converter control loops, and create fault detection/protection with defined safe-state transitions.

Key Responsibilities

•Develop and maintain charger firmware for AC-DC power conversion stages, including power factor correction and isolated DC-DC conversion.
•Implement multi-series lithium-ion battery charge profile management across constant-current, constant-voltage, and taper phases.
•Architect charger-to-BMS communication interfaces over CAN or similar embedded buses, coordinating current requests, voltage feedback, temperature limits, and fault signaling.
•Implement power converter control loops in firmware for voltage regulation, current regulation, and soft-start sequencing with stability under varying conditions.
•Develop fault detection and protection firmware (over/under-voltage, overcurrent, overtemperature, ground fault, loss of communication) with defined safe-state transitions and validate firmware releases.

Key Requirements

•5+ years of embedded firmware development in C/C++ on real hardware, including managing interrupts, DMA, and timing-critical execution.
•Understanding of switched-mode power supply fundamentals, including common AC-DC topologies, power factor correction, and how firmware parameters affect converter behavior.
•Battery charging knowledge of lithium-ion protocols (CC-CV, multi-stage), including how charge rate, temperature, and cell age impact charge termination.
•Hands-on embedded bus fluency with CAN for charger-to-BMS coordination, plus experience with SPI, I²C, and UART for device communication.
•Experience debugging at the firmware-hardware boundary using oscilloscopes, current probes, and power analyzers.
