Key Responsibilities

  • •Design plastic housings and mechanical assemblies for consumer electronics from concept to mass production.
  • •Generate complete documentation: 2D drawings, tolerance tables, BOM, assembly specifications, and 3D models for molds.
  • •Develop DFM/DFH-oriented design solutions for series production (injection molding, assembly, sealing, serviceability).
  • •Support mold execution and approve changes after initial castings (T0–T2), including analysis of molding defects.
  • •Collaborate with hardware/embedded engineers, industrial designers, technologists, quality, and production; validate the final product against technical parameters (e.g., stiffness, fit, weight, IP protection) and cost impact.

Key Requirements

  • •Experience in full-cycle mechanical design of plastic enclosures and assemblies for consumer electronics.
  • •SolidWorks proficiency (solid modeling), including sheet metal fundamentals.
  • •Ability to create accurate assemblies, set datums, verify tolerances, and prepare models for tooling/molding production.
  • •Knowledge of injection molding and tooling specifics (opening directions, sprue points, parting lines, risks like short shots/air pockets) and optimizing for scalability and cost.
  • •Experience with materials and their behavior (e.g., ABS, PC, PC+ABS, PA+GF, TPE, TPU) plus drawing/package generation (2D drawings, tolerance tables, BOM, assembly specifications).
