Key Responsibilities

  • •Partner with engineers, scientists, and product leaders to identify patentable innovations and develop invention disclosures for outside prosecution counsel.
  • •Lead third-party patent portfolio analysis, freedom-to-operate and clearance reviews, and risk assessments with senior legal leadership and outside counsel.
  • •Support litigation matters with claims analysis.
  • •Manage day-to-day trademark portfolio operations, including coordinating filings, renewals, watch notices, routine enforcement matters, and outside counsel.
  • •Develop internal IP policies, workflows, and trainings; build scalable operational processes for patent portfolio management, including docketing systems.

Key Requirements

  • •J.D. from an accredited law school, USPTO patent attorney registration, and active membership in at least one U.S. state bar.
  • •5-10 years of experience in patent law and intellectual property counseling, preferably with major law firm and in-house experience.
  • •Strong technical background in electrical engineering and signal processing.
  • •Ability to work directly with technical teams and identify potentially patentable innovations.
  • •Experience developing invention disclosures into submissions ready for outside patent prosecution counsel.
