Key Responsibilities

  • •Deliver Aerodynamics analysis using methods including wind tunnel testing and computational techniques to optimise aircraft design for safe operation.
  • •Produce integrated airframe design definition and physical product design datasets for manufacture, through-life support, qualification, and certification.
  • •Support materials work including analysing, qualifying and testing materials, investigating properties and failures, and developing new materials for airborne platforms.
  • •Undertake structures engineering structural analysis calculations to validate strength, stiffness, and structural life.
  • •Collaborate with stakeholders on tasks such as CAD definition, product bill of materials management, and structural validation across the engineering lifecycle.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: GBP 34,000 annually

Key Requirements

  • •Obtain (or be predicted to obtain) a 2:2 Bachelor’s degree or a pass at Master’s level in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace/Aeronautical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics or Maths.
  • •Be able to achieve the Baseline Personnel Security Standard, as roles are subject to security and export control restrictions.
  • •Attend the site 4–5 days per week for this role based in Warton/Samlesbury (Lancashire).
  • •Be prepared to work across Graduate Airframe Engineering’s four disciplines: Aerodynamics, Design Engineering, Materials Engineering, and Structures Engineering.
  • •Start on 5th July 2027 under a permanent contract.
