Job Summary

Lead the design, governance, and ongoing evolution of SoFi’s home loans credit policy framework across conforming, government (FHA/VA/USDA), closed-end seconds, and portfolio products. Own credit policy development with underwriting criteria aligned to risk appetite, investor requirements, and digital execution. Partner with Risk, Capital Markets, Product, and Operations to drive scalable decisioning, automation, audit readiness, and improved digital underwriting.

Key Responsibilities

•Lead the end-to-end lifecycle of home lending credit policies, aligning them with risk appetite, investor standards, and business objectives.
•Define and manage credit policy governance, including approval processes, documentation standards, and version control.
•Oversee credit automation and decisioning logic to enable efficient, consistent underwriting outcomes.
•Translate credit policy into executable business rules within systems such as Encompass LOS and credit decisioning engines; oversee UAT and control validation for audit compliance.
•Establish governance for policy management and audit trails; partner with Internal Audit and Enterprise Risk and lead responses to investor inquiries and audits.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 115,200 - 216,000 annually

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
•8+ years of residential mortgage experience with deep expertise in underwriting, credit policy, or credit risk management.
•Proven experience leading or influencing credit policy frameworks across multiple mortgage product lines (Conventional, FHA, VA, USDA, Home Equity, Non-Agency, Non-QM).
•Experience translating investor requirements into automated decision logic and operational guidelines.
•Strong understanding of credit risk management principles, income and asset analysis, and regulatory compliance.
