Job Summary

Operate and maintain heavy terminal equipment in a safe, efficient manner, including a bucket crane, coke cutting equipment, and multiple earthmoving machines used to process petroleum coke. Perform equipment inspections, basic troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, housekeeping, and required decoking/handling tasks while following safety procedures. Work rotating shifts with possible overtime, be available for on-call emergency callouts, communicate via radio with operations teams, and comply with PPE and SCBA/facemask requirements.

Key Responsibilities

•Operate terminal equipment (including crane and heavy machinery) to lift, move, and distribute petroleum coke while maintaining safe storage and handling procedures.
•Monitor and maintain coke cutting equipment, perform basic troubleshooting, and conduct required inspections and audits.
•Perform decoking and coke drum handling tasks, including proper decoking techniques and sweep/unhead/re-head operations as directed.
•Maintain equipment through preventive maintenance tasks (lubricating, cleaning, filter changes, documenting activity).
•Follow safety and PPE requirements, maintain housekeeping/general maintenance, communicate with operations personnel via radio, and respond to shift/on-call scheduling including emergencies.

Key Requirements

•Operate terminal equipment (including crane and heavy machinery) safely and efficiently following all operating procedures.
•Participate in maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair activities for cranes, buckets, and related equipment.
•Use PPE correctly, report damaged protective equipment and unsafe conditions, and meet SCBA/facemask capability requirements.
•Maintain regular attendance and be able to work rotating shifts, weekends, overtime, and respond to emergency callouts on the on-call schedule.
•Possess and maintain a valid motor vehicle operator’s driver license; be able to lift 70 pounds and handle physical demands such as climbing and working at heights.
