Key Responsibilities

  • •Partner with operational leaders to identify, assess, and manage site risks, ensuring effective control of material and critical risks.
  • •Lead and facilitate risk assessments, incident investigations, and risk reviews to drive continuous improvement and organisational learning.
  • •Coordinate and maintain site risk, compliance, and assurance frameworks aligned with legislative, regulatory, and company requirements.
  • •Develop and deliver assurance activities including audits, inspections, and critical control verifications to evaluate risk control effectiveness.
  • •Provide expert advice on risk management and SHMS requirements, coach leaders, monitor emerging risks and incident trends, and drive a positive safety culture.

Key Requirements

  • •A Bachelor/Honours degree (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline such as Safety is highly desirable.
  • •Previous experience working in a Coal Mine, and an understanding of the QLD Coal Mining Legislation.
  • •A current Manual Drivers Licence.
  • •Working knowledge of Microsoft SharePoint, Isometrics (or other Safety system), and relevant compliance registers such as “Environment Essentials”.
  • •Knowledge of safety policies and procedures, with a consistent ability to demonstrate required behaviours and champion safety values.
