Key Responsibilities

  • •Manage and lead design packages from concept to construction for major highways, rail and light rail, bus infrastructure, and greenway/active travel projects.
  • •Apply UK and/or Irish design standards (e.g., DMRB, DMURS, cycling guidance) to create safe, people-focused transport solutions.
  • •Deliver high-quality deliverables and client service within quality, time, and budget constraints.
  • •Collaborate across multidisciplinary teams and specialists (e.g., drainage, structures, environmental) to progress work packages.
  • •Work directly with clients, local authorities, and stakeholders through technical challenges and statutory approval processes, and mentor apprentices to develop the team.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering (or an equivalent degree recognized by the Washington Accord).
  • •Demonstrated commitment and progression toward Chartership (e.g., application submitted or near completion of Initial Professional Development).
  • •Post-graduate experience in relevant areas such as civil engineering, highways, public transport and greenways, plus NEC contracts and contract management experience.
  • •Knowledge and experience in UK and Ireland design standards applicable to transport projects (e.g., DMRB, DMURS, Cycle by Design, LTN 1/20, LTN 1/24, NTA Cycle Design Manual).
  • •Knowledge of contract documentation and statutory planning/design approvals in the UK and/or Ireland (e.g., NEC/Public Works Contract; EIA/NIS/CPO and associated planning processes).
