Key Responsibilities

  • •Collect data and complete house checklists in feed conversion houses, including weighing chickens, adding feed to feeders, disposing of dead birds, cleaning/disinfecting equipment, and performing routine housekeeping.
  • •Monitor birds and environments by feeding according to schedules, segregating birds by line/sex, examining for illness signs, and monitoring controls/thermostats regulating poultry house temperature and humidity.
  • •Collect and enter dissection laboratory data by euthanizing birds, dissecting per accepted protocols, visually scoring for defects, measuring with a caliper, and recording weights/defects on a tablet or computer.
  • •Perform lab/dissection support duties such as collecting lab samples, cleaning/disinfecting/hauling coops, maintaining foot baths and sanitation supplies, and disposing of dead dissect birds into incinerators.
  • •Maintain equipment and prepare houses for incoming flocks, including repairing/aligning/constructing cages, pens, and related equipment.

Key Requirements

  • •At least 12 months of consecutive work history with one employer and no additional job gaps greater than 6 months in the past 36 months.
