Key Responsibilities

  • •Control and monitor pipeline operations, maintaining pressures and flow rates and responding to station alarms and communications failures.
  • •Coordinate operational activities with field personnel, other control centers, and schedulers’ pumping orders, including emergency dig reports.
  • •Complete required daily paperwork, including stream sheets, pipeline log/trouble reports, and morning reports transmitted to field locations.
  • •Complete assigned computer-based training, DOT Operator Qualification Training, and abnormal operations and safety-related training.
  • •Respond to emergencies by executing safe shutdowns, answering the 1-800 line, coordinating with field personnel, and completing leak/spill paperwork.

Key Requirements

  • •High school diploma or equivalent.
  • •Knowledge of pipeline operations (e.g., gauging, station operations, hydraulics) or strong aptitude for control center work.
  • •Able to read, write, and comprehend English.
  • •Ability to complete and pass Operator Qualification Training required by Plains and the Department of Transportation (DOT).
  • •Computer literacy in Excel, Word, Access, and Outlook.
