Job Summary

Own detailed thermal analysis for products across the lifecycle—from design trade studies and proposals through qualification testing and ongoing production support. Perform hand calculations and finite element-based modeling to solve program thermal challenges, develop test plans, and correlate models using analyzed test data. Present results for internal, external, and government customers, review peer work, and document findings. Onsite role in El Segundo, CA with U.S. citizenship and TS/SCI clearance requirements.

Key Responsibilities

•Perform hand calculations to define the scope of higher-detail thermal analysis models.
•Conduct detailed thermal analyses to address program thermal challenges across product lifecycles.
•Generate test plans to validate analyses and verify hardware compliance with customer requirements.
•Analyze test data to validate and correlate thermal models, including data reduction and model correlation.
•Review work with peers and present results to internal, external, and government customers while documenting and archiving findings.

Key Requirements

•Typically requires a STEM degree and a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree.
•Experience performing thermal analysis using tools such as FloTHERM, PATRAN, Thermal Desktop/SINDA, ANSYS, or equivalent.
•Solid understanding of mechanical principles to solve classical thermal analysis problems, inside and outside finite element tools, with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
•Ability to obtain a U.S. government-issued security clearance; U.S. citizenship is required.
•Ability to work collaboratively in a team-based environment and independently.
