Key Responsibilities

  • •Lead coordination across internal and external stakeholders to drive development and implementation of an optimal fault and autonomy architecture for assigned programs.
  • •Support technology integration and development of first-of-kind space vehicles and missions.
  • •Develop software requirements for onboard fault protection to detect and isolate failures and transition to spacecraft safing modes.
  • •Analyze system failure modes using FMECA or fault tree analysis and ensure adequate redundancy for required fault tolerance.
  • •Develop autonomy or ground procedures to recover from failures and provide occasional on-call support for system anomalies.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s, Master’s or Doctorate of Science degree in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry.
  • •Strong technical background across spacecraft subsystems.
  • •Particular depth in Attitude Control Systems (ACS)/Guidance Navigation & Control (GNC), flight software, or spacecraft operations.
  • •Ability to dive into broad, minimally-defined design spaces and effectively lead integrated efforts.
  • •Develop and present solutions that support fault tolerance and autonomy aligned to customer risk tolerance.
